Hood Anime respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Fair Use Notice

Hood Anime creates parody, satire, and commentary content that we believe is protected under the Fair Use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107).

Our content is transformative in nature because it:

  • Adds new expression, meaning, and comedic value to original works
  • Creates parody that comments on and critiques the source material
  • Does not serve as a substitute for the original works
  • Uses material only as necessary for the parodic and critical purpose

We actively encourage our audience to support official anime releases, merchandise, and streaming services.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe that content on Hood Anime infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice.

Your Notice Must Include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works)
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information sufficient to locate it (e.g., URL)
  3. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

Important: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be subject to liability for damages.

Our Response to DMCA Notices

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  1. Review the notice for completeness and validity
  2. Evaluate whether fair use or other defenses apply
  3. If appropriate, expeditiously remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content
  4. Notify the user who posted the content (if applicable)
  5. Provide information about filing a counter-notice

We reserve the right to assert fair use defenses where we believe our content is protected parody, satire, or commentary.

Filing a Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed in error or that you have authorization to use the material, you may file a counter-notice.

Your Counter-Notice Must Include:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  3. Your name, address, and telephone number
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or any judicial district if outside the U.S.) and that you will accept service of process from the complainant
  5. Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not notify us within 10-14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the removed content.

Repeat Infringers

Hood Anime will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. A repeat infringer is a user who has been notified of infringing activity more than twice and/or has had content removed more than twice.

Modifications to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this DMCA Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

  • Purchasing official merchandise and Blu-rays

  • Attending official anime events and conventions

Our parody content is meant to celebrate and comment on anime, not replace it. We love anime and want the industry to thrive!
