We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Hood Anime is a private membership community and entertainment platform that creates parody, commentary, and transformative content based on anime series for comedic, satirical, and educational purposes.

Our content includes:

  • Parody redubs of anime scenes with original comedic dialogue
  • Commentary and critique on anime storytelling and culture
  • Transformative works that add new meaning and expression
  • Community discussions and watch parties

3. Parody, Satire & Fair Use

All Hood Anime content is parody, satire, and commentary protected under the Fair Use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107).

Our content qualifies as fair use because:

  • Purpose: Our works are transformative, adding new expression, meaning, and comedic commentary to the original material
  • Nature: We create parody and satire, which are historically protected forms of expression
  • Amount: We use only what is necessary for the comedic and critical purpose
  • Market Effect: Our parodies do not substitute for the original works and we actively encourage fans to support official releases

We believe in supporting the anime industry. We encourage all members to:

  • Purchase official merchandise and media
  • Subscribe to legitimate streaming services
  • Support original creators and studios

4. Copyright & Intellectual Property

Original Works: All original anime series, characters, names, logos, and trademarks referenced in our content belong to their respective copyright holders, including but not limited to:

  • Shueisha, Viz Media, and respective manga publishers
  • Studio Pierrot, MAPPA, ufotable, Toei Animation, and other animation studios
  • Original creators and mangaka

Hood Anime does not claim ownership of any original anime intellectual property. We respect all copyrights and trademarks.

Our Works: Hood Anime owns the copyright to our original transformative derivative works, including our parody scripts, voice performances, and original creative elements added to the content.

5. Eligibility & Age Requirements

To use Hood Anime, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
  • Be at least 18 years of age to access any mature-rated content
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws

If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

6. Membership & Payments

6.1 Subscription

  • Access to Hood Anime requires a paid subscription
  • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe

6.2 Founding Member Pricing

  • The first 100 members receive 50% off ($4.99/month) locked in for life
  • This price remains unchanged as long as membership remains active
  • If membership lapses, standard pricing applies upon resubscription

6.3 Refunds & Cancellation

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds may be requested within 7 days of initial purchase
  • No refunds for partial months or after the 7-day period

7. User Conduct & Community Guidelines

By using Hood Anime, you agree NOT to:

  • Share, distribute, or redistribute Hood Anime content outside the platform
  • Record, download, or pirate any Hood Anime content
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without written permission
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members or staff
  • Post hate speech, explicit content, or illegal material in community spaces
  • Attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the Service
  • Create competing services using our content or methods
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Violation of these guidelines may result in immediate termination without refund.

8. Content & Entertainment Purposes

Our content:

  • Is not intended to infringe on any copyrights or trademarks
  • Does not represent the views of original copyright holders
  • Contains original comedic dialogue that is fictional and satirical
  • Should not be taken as factual representation of original works

9. DMCA & Copyright Claims

Hood Anime respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, please see our DMCA Policy for instructions on submitting a takedown notice.

We will respond to valid DMCA notices in accordance with the law while reserving our right to assert fair use defenses where applicable.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Content will always be available or accurate
  • Any defects will be corrected

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOOD ANIME AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Hood Anime in the 30 days preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hood Anime and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content you submit to the Service

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, including for:

  • Violation of these Terms or Community Guidelines
  • Illegal or fraudulent activity
  • Chargebacks or payment disputes
  • At our sole discretion

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. No refunds will be provided for termination due to Terms violations.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and DMCA Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hood Anime regarding the Service.
